Cleaner air and better working environment at Damaskus Maskinskydd

Damaskus Maskinskydd, located in southern Stockholm, has been providing technical expertise and solutions involving mechanical protective components for machines in the manufacturing industry since 1980. The company focuses on manufacturing, selling and refurbishing guards for movable machine parts according to customer specifications. Challenges with grinding dust and soot

Before working with QleanAir, Damaskus Maskinskydd had challenges with grinding dust in the workshop air. Despite the use of point extraction arms to handle welding fumes and combustion gases, these systems were under-dimensioned to handle the amount of grinding dust that was produced. Employees noticed the problem because they often had soot in their noses when they went home after work.

A better working environment and increased wellbeing

Damascus Maskinskydd began a partnership with QleanAir at the start of 2023. Two powerful QleanAir FS 70 Heavy Duty air cleaners were placed for evaluation in the workshop where grinding and welding take place. These air cleaners are specially developed for heavy industry. To increase safety, spark protection devices were also fitted to the machines. Air quality measurements were carried out and the results showed a significant reduction in airborne particulate levels. It has now been over a year since installation and the air cleaners continue to effectively clean the air from grinding dust and other airborne particles.
